No excuse because it is a health hazard, but my sister worked on the manufacturing line at Kawasaki. And it was very hard to get a bathroom break. It moved so fast, she had to process a certain number of parts per hour and if she couldn't flag someone down to come stand in her place to go pee, she had to hold it. The only people that could and who were not already tied to the line, would be supervisors or leads covering the floor. And they were probably stretched thin as well.
