1. I was in college in Tarrytown when the Tappan Zee Bridge was built - mid 1950's.

Every day we heard the loud pounding of motors and machines putting in place the structures for that awesome long bridge to Nyack and western New York.
Then, finally, went to the dedication, at which Gov. Averill Harriman spoke.

Memories...
