2. Hmmmm - I was thinking both the birth rate and divorce rate would rise,

since that's not mutually exclusive.

Regarding the birth rate: All those people home, can't go anywhere, lots of time to fill, and in the beginning still an exciting newness. Of course, once the deed is done and time wears on, the "newness" disappears and revulsion starts to set in, raising the divorce rate.

In any event, it will be interesting to see how the final numbers shake out when we're looking back on COVID.
