I feel so heartbroken at what we have witnesses this week and knowing this is what black people have lived with for four centuries. What CAN we do besides stay awake, reject racism where we see it, call it out in our society, in our families, in ourselves. It seems on every front we are falling apart, but we can't give up. There are people like you and me and the rest of the DU family who feel the same as we do. We just have to hold one another up and keep fighting for justice.
