17. I very firmly but absolutely assertively tell them NO after one of their "helpful" staff

crushed two packages of WASA crackers (which are not cheap, mind you) trying to fully/better expose the bar code. This was unnecessary, mind you. I've purchased them plenty of times before and one need only lightly hold the package over the scanner.

She then proceeded to double ring up two items, which was obvious to me because she "swung" them across twice each time.

After arguing with her that she had done so, I had to get a manager to correct the total, at which point I was already more than 15 minutes in above and beyond what checking out would have taken if I'd been left alone.

Then there was the experience at Sam's Clubs "new/improved" self-checkouts where the woman grabbed my hand-held scanner as I was just starting to check out, became distracted when the customer beside me had some difficulty and proceeded to scan all their items to MY machine, which she proceeded to start scanning again on my purchases, not allowing me to take the hand scanner back.. Once again, an argument that that had happened, requiring a manager and at least 10 minutes to make it right.

So, no. I don't want THEIR help.
