Here in BC, medically-necessary ramps can be subsidized by the govt. I don't know if that's turned the mini-industry into a cash-heavy scam, but they are ridiculously expensive.
I offered to build one for my friend who had terminal cancer. but she opted to go with a specialist. This was 2008 or 2009, and it cost $3500. I mentioned this to a carpentercpntractpr I know, and his comment was "If you're building ramps and not making $1000 a day, there's something wrong."
It's so lovely to hear that your experience is the exact opposite. What great, great people!!!
