If it is something like Amazon, no.

But for a recent Etsy order that took a long time (international), I had contacted the seller at first saying it did not arrive (after 3 weeks) asking for tracking info (cost prohibitive in the UK) they told me they didn't have any. I sent them an update saying that the package arrived.

But in most cases, tracking should handle everything. Even USPS First Class has it.

AS an Etsy seller, not one buyer has let me know when the order was received.
