. . . but it would undoubtedly be challenged in the courts, and I seriously doubt they would let him do it. The only place it could conceivably be done is to the right of George Washington, where the sculptor, Gutzon Borghum, had originally intended to place Thomas Jefferson, but found that the rock was too unstable to accommodate any sculpture.

The entire sculpture was created to mark America's sesquicentennial, so even if another face could be added, unless it were of a president who served during the country's first 150 years, it would be ineligible to be added in any case.

Don't spend time worrying about this, folks -- it is just another one of Trump's endless distractions!
