In the words of Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor Who:
"You know the very powerful and the very stupid have one thing in common. They both dont alter their views to fit the facts. They alter facts to fit their views. Which can be very uncomfortable if youre one of the facts that needs altering."
Having been and known some of the facts who don't fit their views, I can tell you, it's very uncomfortable.
