that the west is at least partly fractured on this issue.

The Ukrainians are saying this is because some in the west are afraid that Russia will be weakened beyond repair if they lose the war. A weakened Russia will split the country into pieces as did the fall of the Soviet Union. Then a stronger China will step in and take chunks of Russian territory. Therefore, some in the west advocate backing off Ukraine support for fear of creating a giant Chinese panda bear that a Russian loss will produce.

If this is true, Ukraine will lose. And I'm a hardened, steadfast, ardent supporter of Ukraine. Ukraine has suffered so much for many centuries, my heart will break at a Russian win. Russia will be brutal and I predict now, genocidal if they are allowed to occupy Ukraine because of western cowardice.
