(12,977 posts)When the first of these sorts of stories about Teabagger adultery or DUIs came out, it seemed like a good opportunity to make fun of "Republican Family Values" and all that. But this story crosses the line from "behavior that is only noteworthy because conservatives are such hypocrites" into "really sick shit."
I mean, what *is* it with right-wingers? We know from studies that they're more fearful, more dependent on authority to tell them what to do, and often just not very smart. But why is there also a buried streak of violence in so many of them?
Between this and the Florida teen who was killed by a neighborhood vigilante, I'd like to officially declare a moratorium on making light of conservative violations of ordinary, decent human norms. There's something very wrong going on there, and seeing any of it as a source of humor -- or as a way for liberals to score points -- doesn't come to grips with the problem.
