In reply to the discussion: Ronna McDaniel Will Not Appear on MSNBC Amid 'Internal Backlash' Over Her Hire at NBC News: Report [View all]PatrickforB
(14,608 posts)26. I don't know if you all watched Meet the Press this morning.
Welker interviewed McDaniel and did a pretty good job, fact checking all along.
Then Chuck Todd came on and in spite of his disgusting record of bothsiderism and general craven spinelessness, stood tall today. Here is what he said, quoted from Politico:
NBC chief political analyst Chuck Todd on Sunday publicly slammed the companys decision to hire Ronna McDaniel in a stunning on-air moment immediately following the former RNC chairs network debut.
Let me deal with the elephant in the room. I think our bosses owe you an apology for putting you in this situation, Todd told Meet the Press host Kristen Welker, who previously interviewed McDaniel, during a subsequent panel discussion.

That was good. Todd excoriated NBC for actually paying McDaniel as a consultant, and cast her entire pack of lies into question by asking whether she was speaking for herself, NBC or the Republican Party.
And then the panel of reporters continued the excoriation of McDaniel.
I thought it was pretty good for MtP.

I know she will not dedicate herself to leaving the GOP permanently, unlike Elizabeth Warren

Ask yourself why this matters so much to you that you'll continue to argue with a person on the internet.

If on air talent chimed in I'd think Rachel, Lawrence, Joy, and Nicole could have been very influential

Let's not forget Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski who fawned all over Donald Trump during the 2016 campaign.

What the McDaniel hire clearly demonstrates is the "news" has too often become infotainment

It couldn't be more important to hear from an un-indicted criminal who tried to overthrow the government 3 years ago?
