In reply to the discussion: Netanyahu blasts Sen. Schumer: 'We're not a banana republic' [View all]BlueMTexpat

Israel as if it were a Banana Republic.
And that has ALWAYS been the case where Bibi is concerned.
Here is an OLD article where Bill Clinton, who knows what he's talking about, spells things out. Bibi & Co - specifically including ultra-RW US Jews and immigrants from the break-up of the USSR - have been harming the interests of Israel AND the US for a LONG time!

A quote from Bill Clinton in the link:
"The most pro-peace Israelis are the Arabs; second the Sabras, the Jewish Israelis that were born there; third, the Ashkenazi of long-standing, the European Jews who came there around the time of Israels founding," Clinton said. "The most anti-peace are the ultra-religious, who believe theyre supposed to keep Judea and Samaria, and the settler groups, and what you might call the territorialists, the people who just showed up lately and theyre not encumbered by the historical record."
IMO, I would modify the quote to say that most Palestinians and Sabras are equally pro-peace.
It's the others who are intolerable and who ruin it for all.

Schumer spoke truth. He has lost his way. IF he ever had it to begin with. Tank commanders know how to plow thru.

How much does the U.S. give in funds to Israel compared to a banana republic?

I have a lot more faith in Senate Majority Leader Schumer than in scheming Netanyahu.
