Being a very messy as the Colorado River continues to shrink along with the snowpack that feeds it and the vital Lake Powell and Lake Mead.

The cities of Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Phoenix along with many many smaller cities and farmers depend on the water and the fighting for smaller and smaller acre feet of water is going to get very bad. The outside investors buying up the land where the water tables are only makes it worse.

There is a very good documentary about this issue and what is already happening (I forget the name rt now) but there are several on this. One of the documentary I saw said people were drilling at 45° angles in order to tap into water on land they didn’t own.

Fighting for energy so your car starts or lights turn on is one thing, fighting for water a basic and essential ingredient to life will be a no holds barred fight.

The worst part about any and all of this is that we’ve known what was gonna happen if we didn’t change our ways. Set stoopid feelings and bias aside and one sees clearly that not only was Al Gore right but even he was being optimistic about it because global warming (which is what it is) will change every aspect of life that is still supportable on this planet. If you want a real read on just how invasive and totally disruptive the warming of the planet is going to be. “The Uninhabitable Earth” by David Wallace-Wells will cause you to lose sleep if you care about this at all.

Wow, this is a super shitty ruling. n/t intheflow Jun 2023 #1
