7. It was a sad, tawdry story all along.

I watched it from Seattle, from the perspective of someone who saw similar things happen at my High School in Ohio. 2 teachers involved with students, albeit much older than Fualaau, and the male principal forced out (after I'd graduated) for (widely rumored) serial sexual abuse of pubescent boys, including my classmates.

None of them were convicted of crimes, none went to jail. I graduated in 1981.

May her children find peace. May Vili Fualaau find peace.
