As someone who is mentally unstable and not a racist I get really sick of people blaming every bad thing on mental illness. Life is a struggle as it is but it doesn't help with all these stigmatizing language I see online. She threatened to make up that he was threatening her. As far as her losing her job and being homeless I have been there done that.
