something about the mindset of people who don't regard the virus as a serious matter. They care about themselves. They care about their personal inconvenience due to social restrictions.

They do not care about the general welfare of the human community at large. If their needs are being met, the world around them can burn to the ground. This is the mindset of many on the right side of the political spectrum. "Right and good" means whatever benefits themselves and those in their immediate circle.

The actual "right and good" things that are designated so by the major religions and moral philosophies of the human race are always twisted and re-worked so that they are always rewarded.

Liberals and progressives are not perfect. I have encountered many who are just as "holier than thou" as extreme Christians. But the very meaning of the world "liberal" is an understanding that the broader view must always be taken into account. No one with a liberal perspective thinks, As long as I get to safety, everyone else can suffer and die.
