Yeah, because no other country in the world has a notable proportion of its residents with pre-existing and underlying health conditions.
The Conservative government in Britain have been as good as trying to set up a similar scenario themselves to shift blame onto certain scientists (as well as others) that have been giving their expertise on dealing with the COVID-19 outbreak there with their politicians and supporters back in March & April parroting the line "we're being guided by the science" to promote their containment polocies - but once it was found out that this apparent group of experts included the Prime Minister's senior advisor, who was essentially at these meetings to put pressure on these otherwise apolitical experts in their field to get them to conform with his and the wider government policy on dealing with the pandemic, a group whose names were originally not placed in public for bullsh*t reasons concerning pressure from outside influences (instead the pressure was from the inside), that line for Boris Johnson and company to line up these scientific advisers as fall guys for the incoming sh*tshow that was going to follow soon got exposed. That still hasn't stopped them still looking for scapegoats to blame anyone but themselves for what they've done. And the Drumpf Administration have been going by a very similar playbook, just with a more bombastic tone and a higher level of delusion being presented.
The message to Drumpf and associates is the same as that for the British Government - own your shit.
