In reply to the discussion: Barr blasts Trump's tweets on Stone case: 'Impossible for me to do my job': ABC News Exclusive [View all]Kablooie
(18,646 posts)Barr and Trump had a meeting. To please Trump Barr told Trump that the sentence could be a little extreme and he would recommend lessening it.
Trump then wants credit for the decision so tweets about it before Barr can do anything.
Barr then releases his recommendation which looks like he's following orders and all hell breaks loose as the mountain of blame falls on Barr's shoulders.
So technically he wasn't following Trump's orders but, of course, the only reason he would intervene at all would be to stroke Trump's bloated ego.
Now he's whining about how Trump's tweeting creates problems for him.
(Problems that wouldn't exist if he hadn't kowtowed to Trump in the first place.)
So now Barr has publicly criticized Trump so this could be the beginning of the end of his corrupt AG stint.
Let's all hope.
Unfortunately Trump will find another total toady to install as AG next so it won't really change things.
The next one will probably be even more corrupt than Barr, hard as that is to imagine.
