People can constantly attack Kennedy as an opportunistic young upstart who should wait his "turn", but suggest that maybe Markey shouldn't just be entitled to the seat until whenever he decides to retire and suddenly it's "Boo hoo, stop picking on him. He's old."

Agreed - 20 years ago, I would have felt that Kennedy should allow Markey to serve one more term.
