He did not ever run for the WH, because he seems to have more power in his position. He certainly seems to rule the (R)'s, telling them which bills he will allow them to vote on. They meekly go along with his decisions, even putting their own "jobs" at risk. In any photos of them clustering around Moscow Mitch, look at the expressions on their faces. I think they HATE him, but do not have the spine to defy him.
