Well spoken. Not only should we ALWAYS vote, we should always take the trouble to study what each candidate says, and more importantly what they have DONE in the past. Then, we need to think those things through and choose the candidate that best represents the interests of the most people, ourselves included.

Then, when our candidate enters office, we are STILL accountable as citizens of this Republic to pay attention to what they are doing, and call them or write them to give guidance on how we feel about issues they are confronting and problems they are trying to solve.

Without an active and informed citizenry, any Republic will fall prey to demagogues such as Trump and his criminal and treasonous cabal.

But, hey, we might not have to worry about any of that shortly, because the right wing is trying its best to make this into a fascist dictatorship.

I am not using the word 'fascist' lightly, either. Fascism is a mixture of chest-pounding nationalism and oligarchy, and that's what Trump and his right wing represent.

So, as Joy says in her tweet, we'd better get our shit together because if we don't make some serious and dramatic changes in Washington next November, we all may be in for a long, miserable, violent, ruinous, hungry, thirsty, impoverished ride. Just like the ride the Nazis took Germany on. Consolidation of the state around a Fuehrer, oligarchs in control of the economy, war and then years of starvation, privation and rebuilding once the sane of the world have defeated the fascists.

It isn't good.
