(5,106 posts)As a longtime local volunteer and campaign worker for the Democrats, I voted for Hillary in the general election, but Bernie in the primary. On reflection, I'm happy that Hillary (for what it was worth) was the candidate, rather than Bernie, as I doubt he would have attained more votes overall. I'm pretty sure that the Repuglicans had an even nastier game plan in mind for Bernie, had he been the candidate. I live in a college town, and during the 2012 election, we learned that the local college students were receiving calls (from the local Republicans) acquiring as to their party affiliation, if not registered locally; then accordingly given disinformation as to polling places and their eligibility to vote locally or at home, and confusing them as much as possible. Already registering on campus, we made sure, in 2016 to make sure that the students would NOT be confused in 2016. Gotta love what Republicans have become in order to win!
