7. I took a year of Russian in 1966-67.

I don't remember much of anything except the Cyrillic alphabet and a few words and phrases.

I can still rattle off the alphabet from memory and can kind of phonetically read some Russian words, if they don't have too many hard or soft signs in them (called ъ = tvyordi znak = твёрдый знак and Ь = myagki znak = мягкий знак, respectively).

Otherwise I am useless in Russian.

BTW, a correction to your post. You have the щ as 'shsh'. That should be 'shch', letter is pronounced 'shcha' for those interested.
