Sadly.

Though in my neighborhood, he would be under armed guard and very few people would be allowed in the same area as him. Not everyone can get into a venue when a president visits. It is a limited event and people are denied entry - even family members.

I'm on an army post, a political mix of people. But the city where we are located is so red they stain everything.

This post held the first gay marriage ever on an army post. Wasn't legal at the time but that didn't stop the event from happening. It was well attended and well received on post.

It did become legal (same sex marriage) shortly after though.

Now, the people of the city were upset - but fuck them.
