It uses the same 18 volt batteries our hand tools do so we already had those. And it moves an amazing amount of air and makes even hot humidity bearable.
A month or so ago our power went out when a small intense thunderstorm went through with a lot of heavy down drafts. A couple of big trees went down on the lines on the rural highway out to our place. The power was off for almost six hours starting in the middle of the afternoon when it was hottest.
I set that little fan up and it kept it bearable until they got the electricity back on.

It ran for hours - maybe four to six? on the small battery I use for small tasks.
