Keith Olbermann With The Great History Reference Tweet [View all]

As soon as Drumpf uttered the words that dropped jaws to the floor nationwide, Keith Olbermann was all over it. And for a history buff like me, this tweet was one of the greatest things I've ever seen. Keith said, "Make no mistake about @RealDonaldTrump's HRC/2nd Amendment remark. It's his version of 'Will no one rid me of this troublesome priest?'"

This is, of course, a reference to when Henry II made this statement regarding Thomas Beckett. And guess what happened next. 4 of Henry's knights heard him say this and immediately rode out and killed Thomas Beckett. As a result of his careless comment, Henry had to pay penance to the Church, and was publicly flogged in front of Beckett's tomb.

Those who fail to learn from history.......
