8. At the time, I hated LBJ with a Purple Passion because of The WAR and the needless loss

of a couple friends. It was only later that I was able to appreciate him for the man he was. I didn't realize he was the most Liberal Democratic President we would see for over half a century.

Whenever someone says, "Politics ain't bean bag!, I think of LBJ.
