I don't know much about bypass surgery at all, so I can't give any advice. So I guess I'll just say: keep a positive attitude that things will get back to normal, with patience and time, and follow your doctor's orders to the "t." Oh, and keep as many pairs as you can of those hospital bed socks with the little skid control thingies on the bottom!
One more thing, though I don't know if it applies to bypass surgery. It's something my husband's oncologist told him upon diagnosis earlier this year, and it's been a real boon to our mental state and focus: don't read too much on the Internet about your condition. There's too much crap out there that is not even applicable to your situation. I'm normally an addictive internet researcher, but I took that to heart and have been very glad. We just consult on a need to know basis, and very rarely at that: e.g., side effect of a particular drug, etc. Focus on getting well, not worrying about what could potentially go wrong.
I have a good feeling you'll be back in no time!
