On the other hand, it lacks the community. I remember taking the subway out
to Arlington every morning and not a single soul speaking or smiling ever. Of course, that was the during the time Bush kept scaring everyone with five year old Al Qaeda maps of subway routes (mine) and acting like they found them the night before.
What time did Obama finally speak on the east coast? I imagine it's a long day - getting dolled up - traffic - waiting to get in - and then having a heavy meal and drinks. Sure by 9 pm people ready to crash.
Interesting point you make though - perhaps the standard media is a dying art and the young people are flocking to non-standard media.
