(12,870 posts)Like pretty much every politician who ever came to national prominence, what you get with Barack Obama is a mixed bag. Overall a very good package (especially compared to any R) -- but some serious flaws on issues like Wall Street, drone warfare, surveillance & whistle blowers, and now TPP.
Is it possible to express serious disagreement with a Democratic president (or candidate like Hillary Clinton) with being labeled a "hater" or a "purist" or someone who seeks a "messiah"??
Sure, there are some critics for whom shades of gray do not exist. Any major disagreement is painted as a complete betrayal that puts the politician entirely in the enemy camp. But, there are also many defenders who are quick to hurl the labels (noted above) in an effort to lump all criticism (regardless of how justified or reasonably expressed) together into an opposing enemy camp.
IMO, the OP is part and parcel of that effort.
How DARE anyone criticize this president!
