(27,815 posts)... (and deliberately so), is the fact that those desiring a Messiah were never the Obama supporters - who realized from the get-go that one man (as remarkable as that one man turned out to be) was going to change the world as we know it by himself, was going to fulfill everyone's desires overnight.
It's the Messiah-seekers who were "disappointed", while the realists understood that pursuing hope-and-change is a team effort, and doesn't come about with the election of one man/woman to the WH.
And now they're back to Square One - insisting that ____ will, if elected, change the world for the better within forty-eight hours of being sworn-in. Everything that is wrong will be righted; everything that is unjust will be rectified; everything that is unfair will be undone.
And a lot of them don't even know who ____ is yet - but they're sure ____ will be the Messiah they've been waiting for.
