(25,699 posts)I don't have a problem with it, no - feral cats, dogs, hogs, they're menaces to the environment, wildlife, and other people's pets. But that's not advocacy, it's indifference. I don't think people should go our loaded for cat. For one, no, not every animal out there is a feral, as this incident certainly proves. For another, allow me to reiterate - don't kill anything you're not going to eat. And if you have any amount of income, subsistence isn't necessary. Third, it's illegal - this woman is going to be in a mess of legal trouble, and not just from the cat's owners.
But if someone kills a feral animal, It's not going to be the end of my world.
And yes, an arrow to the head is almost certainly a cleaner kill than a bullet to the lungs (for instance - good shot in deer hunting). However, it's almost certainly pure 'luck" in this case - she could have easily hit the animal somewhere else an consigned it to a pretty awful way out. Another reason to not advocate it.
