(108,995 posts)the opponents of GMO's are unjustified. There is no necessary connection between the two, other than that they are products of science. And all products of science are not equally valuable or safe.
To take just one example, the fact that Dr. Mercola is wrong to oppose vaccines, doesn't mean he's wrong about everything he opposes or supports. He isn't wrong to criticize junk food. He isn't wrong to promote veggies. He's wrong about vaccines.
Those who criticize products tend to use the same TACTICS. That doesn't make the products criticized equally good or bad. Advertisers of products also use the same general TACTICS to advertise. That doesn't make the products equally good or equally bad. You have to evaluate each individual product and argument, and the specific science behind the product, to determine the validity of each claim.
In other words, just because opponents say "vaccines are BAD" and other opponents say "GMO's are BAD" -- just because the opponents make the same general claim, use the same TACTIC, doesn't mean both products are equally good or bad.
Accepting the need for and safety of one product has nothing to do with accepting the other.
