this pile of excrement article. All i said was the article was impossible to believe with a straight face.

First of all, this article makes an assumption that a cure would be found at all. That is in no way guaranteed. Viruses are extremely hard to develop cures for, and to assume that you will have a cure in the first place is pure fantasy.

In addition, an Ebola cure would be very hard to test. They have to test it on live humans with Ebola to get any legit results. In the past several years, there haven't been any Ebola outbreaks. Do you suggest they go around infecting people with Ebola so they can test their potential cure?

Even if they had a larger budget, what is the likelihood of them spending the huge amounts of money required on Ebola research? I can think of a million other diseases, viruses, random projects for them to spend the money on before they spend millions on a virus that still has yet to kill an single American.

People are talking about this article like it's going to get a shitton of votes for Dems in November, which is totally unbelievable. The premise of the article just sounds completely ridiculous.

If you're after votes with a bullshit strategy like this, then why the fuck haven't we closed the borders and quarantined everyone from Africa. The person you're going after with this whole "we could have cured Ebola without budget cuts" strategy is exactly the reactionary type person that would want closed borders and quarantines.
