(20,450 posts)In fact, I as a black woman, believe that black women are treated as totally invisible by society. In many ways, that is much worse. And if I'm being honest, the black community always expects that black women will be on the front lines marching against injustice against black men. We sometimes wonder where they are when black women are abused, beaten, rape, missing or killed. Actually, we wonder where EVERYONE is, especially the white feminists who claim to care so much about women's issues. Where are they when black women are mistreated? Yeah, I know Anita Hill, but that was really about Clarence Thomas in my view, not really about her, which she writes so eloquently about in her book. That's probably one of the few things I actually agree with her on.
