this modern sense of occupations starts with the Anarcho Syndicalists in the 19th century. Anybody who understands the history of OWS will know where exactly that tactic came from... you guessed it. The Anarchists.
Hell, Occupy Wall Street was bought by a Canadian anarchist magazine, Add Busters.
