(91,006 posts)During the Bush years and Obama's first presidential run, my hairdresser and I agreed very quietly that we were in sync, but out of respect for her business we then let it drop.
At least one of our mechanics is very conservative. He also does an excellent job. He has noticed my bumper stickers but has only made one very mild comment in all these years.
The thing is, I have a business relationship with a lot of different people, and what I expect from them is a job well done at a fair price, and a reasonably pleasant attitude, not political and/or religious agreement.
I prefer not to see the sacred fishy emblem, though, as it always seems to imply (a) that they are more honest than anyone else, which may or may not be true at all, and (b) membership in a club to which we do not belong but they think we ought to belong. But what can you do? I certainly wouldn't drop an association based on that alone.
