8. I'm sure there are some non-violent gun lovers out there.

Target shooting is lots of fun for some people, and it's not inherently violent. The problem comes in when some people insist that their hobby be given precedence over legitimate public safety concerns. We banned lawn darts, for crying out loud. There is no reason to oppose common sense regulation of gun rights.
