(20,776 posts)Photos because it was very unlikely I would ever un pack them again, and they are kept well and safe. I had to get help from another friend who works with the Japanese Sword Society to make sure they were packed correctly. The blades had to be powdered so as to not allow moisture to seep onto the blade and cause rust. These go back to the 1600's and have been oiled and taken care of by each of my many ancestors. Since I am the only child of my father, he chose to give them to me, after my taking many years of Kendo and Kenjitsu.
The Sakura Matsuri is a very special event here in Japan town and held every year around April or March when the Cherry Blossoms are expected to be at their peak. Many, items of Japanese tradition are on display for a curious public.

Sakura Matsuri is a festival of all things Japanese and is often shared openly with all those interested in our culture and heritage. It is one of the more famous events held in San Francisco annually.
