Fellow members of the DU, who own guns or may be members of the NRA. I want you to know that although I'm not a gun-owner or a member of the NRA, I support your right to own a gun and belong to whatever organization you choose. I don't paint all of you guys with the same brush.
I hope that folks with clear heads on both sides come together and try to find solutions to this problem. So far what we've been doing, hasn't worked. I'm sure you'll agree that we need some real changes in this country when it comes to what type of weapons civilians should be allowed to have and how much ammunition civilians should be allowed to have. You fought just like I did for same sex marriage, Choice, the President to get a second term, for the poor, and the uninsured. I look at you as an ally in this fight, not an enemy. Let's work together to try and prevent more of these types of tragedies from occurring. Now, let's take this fight to our elected officials.
