At least 27 people are dead. They were killed by a psycho. We barely know what happened, and we may never be able to figure out why he decided to murder all those children, and we sure as hell may never have anyone who can "answer for" having done it, since the shooter is dead.
But all this anti-gun hysteria, and all the "don't you dare take away my guns!" hysteria, that's flying around is equally despicable. Really, is using this tragedy as another platform to immediately start shouting pro-gun/anti-gun views the best that people can do? The bodies aren't even cold, and it's time to use 18 dead kindergartners as the soapbox for your agendas?
Thank, Mr. President. Thanks for talking about the tragedy. Thanks for not talking about everyone's favorite political football. No, it's not the time to talk about it. Good decisions are not made in the heat of anger and heartbreak.
NRA folks - shut up. Nobody is taking your guns.
Gun-controllers - shut up. If you didn't like how the USA PATRIOT Act was shoved down our throats with no consideration as a hysterical reaction to 9/11, driven by a few calculating opportunists, then don't play politics with this.
