Two to be exact
.the first concerns Ari Melber and his fascination with Rap Music. Today on his show, he admitted that his father, apparently a physician, only allowed Ari to watch TV one hour per week. Thus, he has had the pendulum swing, is a TV personality and is now living his lost adolescence by idolizing a forbidden (for him) genre and thumbing his nose at his upbringing.
As a post-script I might add that that officious Zeke Emanuel stated on the same show that he raised his children without a TV in the home. Im certain that years of therapy ensued for his offspring.
But infinitely more importantly, and I cannot believe that this never ever occurred to me, I realized what Trump sees himself as. If you have read, not simply watched the films, of Ian Flemings James Bond, it might be apparent that Trump embodies many of the revolting characteristics of the villain of, in my humble opinion, quite possibly the most interesting novel, Auric Goldfinger.
Goldfinger was depicted by Fleming as the following:
One of the wealthiest men in his country
Loves all things golden or reminiscent of gold
Cheats at golf without hesitation, obviously, and ruthlessly
Is and has been involved in criminal activities but masquerades as a legitimate businessman-jeweler
Uses women as showpieces and dismisses, even kills them without compunction
Has severe bowel issues for which he has many methods of managing them
Is a narcissist
Is overweight and unattractive
Is a traitor - works for the Russians
Attempts to undermine the underpinnings of the US economy by removing all the Gold in Ft Knox
Plans to murder the entire town of Ft Knox including the military BUT lies to his gangster comrades And tells them that its just a sleeping potion. Uncaring genocidal sociopath
Believes he is more intelligent than anyone else
Believes he is more competent than anyone else
The book intricately describes all of the above attributes. He is a grandiose, much smarter (but not quite smart enough) version of Trump.
