Not a vertical either/or axis.

Glad to see the youngest generation isn't so driven by the "cruelty" ethic like generations before were.

You won't hear them say that abuse or abusiveness "builds character" either.

I wish I could have grown up not having to be tough, not cry, and not show vulnerability or weakness.

Patience, tolerance, love, and understanding is what's true. Those aren't borne of dysfunction.
