18. I don't know if I could ever force myself to watch the whole thing.

Mar 9

I started to watch on Wednesday night, but between the overly dramatic delivery, the Stepford wife vibe, the phoney "we moms have to stick together" schtick*, and the lies themselves, it quickly became unbearable. Fortunately, I started recording the SOTU coverage on MSNBC about 20 minutes before I started watching, so I was able to fast forward through most of her blather.

Fortunately, the entire text is available on line, so I don't have to endure the awfulness of her performance to find out exactly what lies she told, and I intend to do so in the near future.

*I am a mom, but I can't relate to women like her AT ALL. Maybe it's because that was never my entire identity. Being a mother to my daughter was and is just one aspect of my life; a very important aspect, but far from the whole thing, and I never felt like it made me some kind of extra special being, the way "trad wives" like Britt seem to think. (Blech!)
