California is a diverse state. The majority of the population in CA is Dem. This election offered the opportunity to carry on the tradition of diversity in terms of gender and policy positions. Instead, we have a candidate who essentially bankrolled the campaign of a Republican who, even with name recognition won’t win in November. And when you turn out the vote for the opposition on a statewide race, it also impacts the ability of progressive candidates all over the state, so it’s especially hard to watch.
