Vermont is coming down to the wire. With 41 percent of the vote in, former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley is within a few hundred votes of former President Donald Trump.
Working in Haley’s favor: There are still a lot of votes to come in from Burlington, where she ran 58 points ahead of Trump in the initial batch reported, and there are no votes in yet from the college towns of Northfield and Middlebury. Patterns from other states suggest she will likely do well in those areas.
