The publisher was sued by the SS agent and agreed to a settlement.

The book was mostly ignored and has been debunked by several sources over the years. It essentially ignores the Zapruder film, eyewitness accounts, physician testimony, and autopsy information in pursuit of its pet theory.

There are a lot of similar theories related to a Secret Service agent killing Kennedy. They all suffer from the same issues.
