He did say that several times. And I do think that current polls suggest that a great amount of people wish there were options other than President Biden and the defendent representing the two major parties. I should have noted that, but I've just learned of a death in the family, and will not be thinking clearly today.

I do think that there is a danger in people thinking that President Biden will easily defeat the defendent next year. I recognize that a number of Democrats and independents have concerns about his age. I'm not sure that running as a younger version, lacking Biden's experience in a wide range of important issues, will attract voters' support. But a heck of a lot can change in the months to come.
