(43,734 posts)As for conflation, some of those those people in your reply are apparently actual Hamas supporters, which I was not talking about. If they openly support Hamas, then there is no conflation needed from others, as they (the DSA members and other types who ARE Hamas supporters) themselves openly show their true colours.
I have never been a fangirl or a supporter of the DSA. I have stated for years that I think all elected Democrats, especially at US congressional level, should sever all ties and distance themselves from that extremely problematic organisation.
I do not, nor have I ever supported Hamas. Ever.
At the same time, I support the Palestinians who I think have legitimate grievances and do not engage in terrorism.
I condemn the actions of Hamas, just as I condemn the actions, for instance, of Israeli RW settlers and the parts of the Israeli government who aid and support them in their illegal land grabs in the West Bank.
The conflation I was addressing was taking support for the things I stated I (and others) support, plus my (and others) condemnation of specific actions by radical elements from the Israeli side, and then trying to falsely frame that as support for Hamas.
